We are Midwest Food Bank (MFB) and ours is a vibrant mission. We seek to alleviate hunger and poverty by delivering food and disaster relief free of charge. Our goal is to make a difference in our communities and create volunteer opportunities for all. This is our roadmap to “Sharing the Blessings.”
MFB has a personality – a culture – that is unique. Our personality is genuine and pure and moreover, we believe it’s something that sets us apart in the non-profit world.
MFB's personality also recognizes the importance of anticipating and adapting to changes in our business, our partner agencies, our communities, our staff, and our donors.
Just as Christ urges us to take action with the talents/gifts He has given us, our effectiveness in being successful as a organization is built on leveraging & appreciating the diversity of our resources in terms of backgrounds, experiences, and ways of thinking.
We recognize that:
Doing What Is Right requires that we treat all leadership/staff, partner agencies and volunteers fairly, with dignity and respect.
Putting Others First requires that we recognize and value every person and our differences, leveraging the benefits realized from a broad range of ideas, viewpoints and backgrounds; working together to provide hope and relief in our communities.
Reaching Higher requires that we raise the bar on our faith (as the Lord leads) by utilizing and valuing similarities and differences in people to create a broad, open work environment that encourages creative thinking and solutions.
Focusing On those in Need requires that we know our agency partners & the needy, understand their needs, recognize demographic shifts and strategically align business resources to adapt to those shifts.
