Bloomington Loadout Open Today

2014 Results

Georgia Division gets Cold Storage

God is so good! We are excited to announce that the Georgia Division is now in the perishable food business.  Because of generous donations, we installed two-40 foot cold storage containers behind our main warehouse. In 2007, I started driving for MFB Bloomington and also did some small jobs there. It was a 64 mile round trip from Morton and I often thought it sure would be nice if this operation was in Morton. Small Gifts give Much Hope

Who says SMALL givings can't make a BIG difference?  Generous school children and families from Peoria Academy collected food on a cold November day to benefit those we serve at MFB. Our Giving Record

We've hit a new record!  October was a fruitful month of giving allowing us to distribute more than 36,000 cases of foods to our partnering agencies.  We are so thankful that in November over 37,000 cases have been distributed.   Our generous and committed volunteers moved, packaged, and loaded up these cases for our partneriring agencies to distribute to those in need.  For this we are truly THANKFUL.

500 Turkeys for an Indy 500 win!

In honor of Ryan Hunter-Rey's Indianapolis 500 Victory this year, sponsor Butterball Turkey chose the Midwest Food Bank as recipient of 500 whole turkeys to donate to central Indiana.  The Indianapolis division of the food bank was host on Monday to a media event where the turkeys were distributed to our partner organizations.  200 turkeys went to Wheeler Mission and 200 to the Society of St Vincent de Paul for …

ISU Volunteers at Bloomington

The staff at the IL State Univ Student Counseling Center spent part of their staff training at the Bloomington warehouse building pre-load pallets to be used for the September Distribution Week.  Due to their efforts they built over 20 pair of pallets getting us past half way to the total sets of pallets required for the week,  Thanks to a great job by all of you!

MFB receives grant from Clothes Less Traveled

In 2013 our single biggest financial contributor was the Clothes Less Traveled Thrift Store. This great organization makes a difference in our community by providing financial grants to many of the service organizations in this area. Their generous financial grant to Midwest Food Bank helped us to bring in an estimated 30 truckloads of food this year. That equates to over 60,000 cases of food we were able to further distribute to …

Midwest Food Bank Helps Victims of Tornado in Oklahoma

Midwest Food Bank has responded to a request from The Salvation Army and is sending family food boxes to victims of the tornado in Oklahoma.    A family food box contains food and personal care products for a family of four for four or five days.  The first two loads of boxes were delivered Thursday morning with additional loads expected to leave next week.  Each semi trailer holds 750 boxes.  The food bank is …
