ISU Volunteers at Bloomington

The staff at the IL State Univ Student Counseling Center spent part of their staff training at the Bloomington warehouse building pre-load pallets to be used for the September Distribution Week.  Due to their efforts they built over 20 pair of pallets getting us past half way to the total sets of pallets required for the week,  Thanks to a great job by all of you!

MFB Tops Charity Navigator Charts

Charity Navigator again named us to two top ten lists in America. We are pleased that we can operate very efficiently with great results as we serve those in need. Charity Navigator is an organization that rates non-profits based on financial health, administrative expenses as well as transparency and accountability.  The Midwest Food Bank received the highest rating (99.95). MFBIndy Partners with IASP

MFBIndy is excited to announce a new partnership with the Indiana Association of School Principles (www.iasp.org)!  This fall we will be kicking off the first annual Share the Spirit campaign.  Sixty-six schools will be participating in a canned food drive with a goal of collecting 2,000 lbs of peanut butter, jelly, canned soups and canned veggies from each.  That's a total of 132,000 lbs of food that will be …

Booth Brothers Concert Sept 4

Tender Mercies load fulfilled for Backpack Program!

July has been very busy so far and God’s hand is showing through it all. We have another load scheduled for our friends in Arkansas. Group needed for May 29

Packing Disaster Boxes

1st TM Hand-packing Group!

     April 21, marked another milestone in Morton! Our Tender Mercies hand-packing program was kicked off by the youth from Mackinaw United Methodist Church! We enjoyed seeing this group of teenagers & staff get involved on a great hands-on project. MFB receives grant from Clothes Less Traveled

In 2013 our single biggest financial contributor was the Clothes Less Traveled Thrift Store. This great organization makes a difference in our community by providing financial grants to many of the service organizations in this area. Their generous financial grant to Midwest Food Bank helped us to bring in an estimated 30 truckloads of food this year. That equates to over 60,000 cases of food we were able to further distribute to …

Toyota Forklifts of Atlanta Donates Forklift

On November 5th 2013 representatives of Toyota Forklifts of Atlanta donated a Forklift to the Midwest Food bank Georgia Division. 2013 Dinner/Auction

The Georgia Division Dinner/Auction was held November 9 in the warehouse.  Speakers Larry Herman, First Vice-President MFB and Willie M. Midwest Food Bank Helps Victims of Tornado in Oklahoma

Midwest Food Bank has responded to a request from The Salvation Army and is sending family food boxes to victims of the tornado in Oklahoma.    A family food box contains food and personal care products for a family of four for four or five days.  The first two loads of boxes were delivered Thursday morning with additional loads expected to leave next week.  Each semi trailer holds 750 boxes.  The food bank is …
