How Midwest Food Bank Texas Rescued $700K in Supplies

At Midwest Food Bank Texas, we're committed to meeting needs with innovation, grit, and heart. A recent opportunity put all of that to the test.

"An entire warehouse was donated to us," said Gareth Keown, Executive Director of Midwest Food Bank Texas. "But there was a catch: it was in complete disarray, with no electricity, no running water, and supplies scattered everywhere."

Undeterred, our incredible volunteers rolled up their sleeves, cleaned and organized the facility, and in just the first day, rescued over $700,000 worth of personal care products—toothpaste, diapers, toiletries, snacks, and more. These critical items are now on their way to those who need them most.

This effort is more than just a cleanup—it's a shining example of how Midwest Food Bank goes the extra mile to rescue food and resources that would otherwise be lost.

Thank you for standing with us. Together, we're making a difference—one truckload at a time.
