In honor of Ryan Hunter-Rey’s Indianapolis 500 Victory this year, sponsor Butterball Turkey chose the Midwest Food Bank as recipient of 500 whole turkeys to donate to central Indiana. The Indianapolis division of the food bank was host on Monday to a media event where the turkeys were distributed to our partner organizations. 200 turkeys went to Wheeler Mission and 200 to the Society of St Vincent de Paul for their thanksgiving meals. The remaining 100 were given to other agencies throughout central Indiana.
Racing legend Michael Andretti, President/CEO of Butterball Kerry Doughty, 2014 Indy Lights driver Zach Veach and the #28 car pit crew were on hand to help distribute the turkeys.
