A Beautiful Day for a Ride

Illinois weather. If it’s not what you want, stick around. It’ll change soon.

So it happened on Saturday, June 9, the day of the Food Bank Flyer, a bike ride to benefit Midwest Food Bank. The morning was beautiful for a bike ride, cool with no breeze. Suddenly, storm clouds appeared and a much-needed heavy rainfall began.

It was much-needed, but not very convenient for a bike ride. Fortunately, most of the registered riders waited it out. Soon the rain stopped and the ride was on. Nearly 50 riders did the 20, 40 or 60-mile route.

Midwest Food Bank offer sincere thanks to Team 224, who sponsored and ran this event. Team 224 brought many of the volunteers and promoted the event on their website (Team224.org). Also, thank you to the MFB volunteers who helped and the riders for participating.

If you have an idea for a fundraiser, contact Chad Bevers, Executive Director of the Bloomington-Normal location.
