Community Impact Captured as Service Takes Center Stage
- Amazon filmed a commercial at Midwest Food Bank featuring the real process of receiving, unloading, and sorting donated products
- The filming highlighted an ongoing partnership, with 4.8 million pounds of food donated by Amazon in 2023
- Donations are distributed through nonprofit partners to serve communities and reduce waste
Amazon recently filmed part of a commercial at Midwest Food Bank, focusing on how donated products move through the organization and into the community.
The crew filmed a truck leaving another facility and brought part of that load to Midwest Food Bank to represent a delivery. From there, filming followed the normal process inside the warehouse.
Marcie, our Development Director, greeted the driver. Volunteers unloaded the truck. Other volunteers continued sorting donations that had already been received.
This process reflects an ongoing partnership. Amazon has been a consistent food donor to Midwest Food Bank for several years, providing products that are distributed to nonprofit partners.
In 2023, Midwest Food Bank received 4.8 million pounds of food from Amazon, valued at more than $18 million. These donations support food banks, pantries, and organizations serving families across multiple communities.
The commercial focuses on keeping usable products out of landfills and directing them to people who need them. At Midwest Food Bank, that work is part of daily operations. Donations are received, sorted, and prepared for distribution through a network of partners.
We look forward to sharing the finished commercial when it is released. Follow Midwest Food Bank on Facebook to see the final video and future updates.
