For the past five years, Brent Reddish has been a consistent, friendly face in the Midwest Food Bank Morton warehouse. This October, the Operations Manager begins a new chapter as he retires.
During his time on staff, Brent has helped guide the Morton division through responses to natural disasters ranging from ice storms to hurricanes. Along the way, he has helped organize and distribute thousands of food boxes, cleanup buckets, and hygiene kits.
But Brent’s history with Midwest Food Bank began well before he joined the staff in 2021.
Brent and his wife, Jeanne, first served as volunteers, leading groups during evenings and weekends while Brent worked in sales. When an opportunity eventually opened in the Morton warehouse, he decided to make the change.
“When I started working here in 2021, I absolutely fell in love with MFB, my colleagues, the many volunteers, and most of all, the mission we serve each and every day,” Brent said. “My time here has been nothing short of life changing. I will be forever grateful to Midwest Food Bank, for giving me the opportunity of a lifetime.”
Retirement will give Brent and Jeanne more time for another shared goal: playing a round of golf in all 50 states. And if you know Brent, there will likely be some blues music and smoked meat along the way.
Brent, thank you for the years you have given to Midwest Food Bank as both a volunteer and staff member. We wish you and Jeanne God’s blessings on the adventures ahead.
