What is DAF Day?
DAF Day is a national day of giving designed to inspire generosity through Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs). This year, DAF Day takes place on Thursday, October 9, 2025, the second Thursday in October. It’s a great opportunity to use your DAF to make a meaningful impact right here at Midwest Food Bank.
Why Now is a Great Time
- Fund a DAF – With the market performing strongly, now is an excellent time to consider funding a DAF with appreciated stock. Doing so can maximize your giving power, provide potential tax benefits, and expand the reach of your charitable support.
- Gift from a DAF – And if you already have a DAF but haven’t made a charitable grant in a while, DAF Day is the perfect occasion to celebrate by initiating a gift. Each DAF grant fuels our mission to provide food and hope to those who need it most.

Each dollar entrusted to us stretches further, with 99 cents of every dollar donated going directly to our programs.
