Celebrating Susan Njuguna

On 8 March 2025, we paused on International Women’s Day to celebrate Dr. Susan Owuor Njuguna, a woman whose life quietly reflected grace, compassion, and steadfast service. Susan was the founder and director of Elroi Hope Center, where her calling was clear: to care for orphaned children, walk alongside widows, and honor the elderly—especially the wazee of Komarock—with dignity and love.

Susan did not wait for need to come to her. She went into the community, searching for those who had been overlooked, offering food, shelter, and reassurance rooted in faith and mercy. Her work was not driven by recognition, but by obedience to serve and restore.

Susan passed away on 23 December 2025, but her spirit of caring remains alive in the children she protected, the elderly she embraced, and the countless lives shaped by her integrity and leadership. A devoted mother, loving wife, cherished sister, and inspiring colleague, Susan’s absence is deeply felt. Yet her legacy continues—written in lives transformed and in the enduring light she left behind.
