FGCU intern brings passion to MFB Florida

MFB Florida welcomes a new intern, Michelle Mendoza. A senior at FGCU, Michelle is majoring in Communications with a concentration in public relations.

Michelle is interning at Midwest Food Bank as a means of getting experience in the nonprofit world. She has a particular interest in the structure and operations of nonprofits. Michelle is glad to be interning at MFB as she is learning what goes on behind the scenes.

Previously employed by Starline Painting, Michelle scheduled work, updated inventory, and assisted in communications when there was a language barrier. She lives with her mom and stepdad and has an older brother. In her free time, Michelle enjoys video games and reading.

“I’m excited to be interning here and I like the positive and outgoing environment, says Michelle. “I can see I will learn a lot here.”

“Michelle is an eager, passionate intern looking to have a positive impact on her community,” says Karl Steidinger, Executive Director at MFB Florida. “She understands the core values of MFB, and we welcome her enthusiasm.”
