Georgia Location Opens

The Board of Directors of Midwest Food Bank announced today the opening of a new division in Peachtree City, Georgia. With locations in Bloomington, Indianapolis and Peoria, Peachtree City is the fourth MFB facility.

“This move has been under consideration for some time, but we only wanted to proceed when we had clear direction to do so,” said MFB president David Kieser. “Midwest Food Bank has experienced exceptional growth primarily because of exceptional support from the communities we serve. It has been our goal to be a committed community partner in Illinois and Indiana and we intend to be just as committed in Georgia.”

Midwest Food Bank has purchased a 30,000 sq ft building with the first distributions being made from the facility later this month. Linn Stoller, an MFB board member, will oversee the Georgia Division with Ken King directing the day-to-day operations. Both are residents of Peachtree City.

Midwest Food Bank assists over 600 food pantries and social service programs in Illinois and Indiana, serving over 400,000 individuals per month. In addition to food pantry and agency assistance, MFB provides disaster relief, with deliveries to Alabama and North Carolina being the most recent responses.
