Grace Klein Community, located in Vestavia Hills, Alabama, serves individuals and families facing food insecurity and unmet basic needs.
Rooted in faith, their work focuses on rescuing and distributing food while building relationships that bring dignity, hope, and restoration. Each week, they reach an average of 20,000 people, supported by approximately 7,500 volunteers.
At the heart of their work is a simple focus, loving their neighbors well. That care is not only seen in the food they provide, but in the trust and relationships built along the way. Team members often walk alongside people during some of their hardest moments, offering both practical help and meaningful connection.
One moment reflects that mission clearly. Around the time Grace Klein Community became a partner with Midwest Food Bank, a team was preparing to travel to Ukraine to support a church serving refugees. The church shared a need for chocolate to encourage wounded soldiers and ibuprofen to help manage pain where medical resources were limited. Before leaving, the team prayed for provision. During their first optional pallet pickup through Midwest Food Bank, they received exactly what was needed, two pallets of ibuprofen and two pallets of chocolate.
Those supplies were delivered to soldiers recovering from injuries, offering both physical relief and a reminder that they were seen and cared for. What began as a simple request became something greater, reflecting how partnership can extend impact far beyond a single community. Through that partnership, Grace Klein Community continues to serve both locally and globally, meeting needs with consistency, compassion, and a deep commitment to caring for others.
