Midwest Food Bank is grateful to announce a generous gift from Geotab, a global leader in telematics and fleet management. Geotab has donated 100 GO tracking devices and full access to its MyGeotab fleet management platform, technology that will strengthen our ability to deliver food and disaster relief with greater efficiency and care.
On April 1, Geotab leaders visited our Normal, IL, location to connect with our logistics team and witness how their technology will multiply the impact of our operations. As Karl Steidinger, Procurement Director, shared:
“The ability to track utilization, maintenance, and driver behaviors will help us drive safety, elevate the health, and better manage our assets to streamline our operations.”
This new technology is more than just data. It’s another way the Lord provides for this mission, ensuring our deliveries remain reliable and our teams protected.
Every day, our vehicles travel thousands of miles to rescue and distribute food and essential supplies. With Geotab’s platform, Midwest Food Bank can now:
- Monitor truck locations to optimize routes and delivery times
- Respond more quickly and efficiently to crisis and disaster zones
- Reduce fuel waste and limit environmental impact
- Identify vehicle maintenance needs before they become disruptions
These improvements not only help us serve more faithfully and efficiently, they help us stay focused on what matters most: delivering meals to communities facing hunger.
With ten U.S. locations, two international sites, and thousands of dedicated volunteers, Midwest Food Bank’s reach is wide, but our work is never finished. Every donation, every volunteer hour, and every new partnership allows us to grow in both reach and efficiency, all for God’s glory.
