Some gifts are so special they change lives and leave a lasting impact. In Stamford, Connecticut, a local resident has donated her $1.2 million home to Midwest Food Bank New England. This incredible gift will help provide $40 million worth of food to children, families and individuals in need.

The donor chose Midwest Food Bank after researching top-rated nonprofits on Charity Navigator. She was impressed by our efficiency and dedication to helping children, which made us the right fit for her gift.
The home is not only valuable but also full of history. It features walnut balusters from President Ulysses S. Grant’s Washington D.C. residence and a tube elevator that connects its three levels. “This is more than a real estate transaction for me … it’s a mission,” says Suzette Kraus, the Compass realtor managing the sale of the home.
For every $1 donated, Midwest Food Bank distributes $30 worth of food. Last year, our New England division provided over $54 million in food relief to families in Connecticut and beyond.
