Expanding Our Morton Headquarters

Midwest Food Bank is expanding its Morton Division to support the continued growth of its mission locally, nationally, and globally. What began as a small warehouse has become a central hub for food distribution, volunteer engagement, operational leadership, Tender Mercies production, and disaster response. To meet this opportunity, we are launching a $6 million expansion project that will add 20,000 square feet of warehouse space, improve logistics and safety, and create dedicated areas for volunteers and leadership teams.

Goal: $6 million to make this vision a reality.

20,000 additional square feet of warehouse space
Three total loading docks for faster deployment of aid
40+ new parking spaces to better accommodate volunteers
A dedicated volunteer project area to enhance the volunteer experience
Improved safety, shipping, and receiving efficiency for disaster relief supplies
Streamlined logistics for staff and volunteers
Dedicated central space to manage operations, food procurement, and logistics across multiple divisions, including:
- Board room
- Executive offices
- Break rooms

Increased Disaster Relief Response This expansion allows us to serve more nonprofit partners and reach more people in need, more quickly and effectively, when disasters strike.
Community and Volunteer Engagement The project is made possible by the compassion and commitment of Morton and surrounding communities. Volunteers are central to our mission, and this facility will create a welcoming, more functional space for them to serve.
