ISU President Dietz and cabinet visit MFB

“I am appreciative of Midwest Food Bank’s service to those in need,” says Larry Dietz, President of Illinois State University. That appreciation led Dietz to bring his cabinet for an extended visit Tuesday, April 3.

After meeting CFO Eric Hodel and Executive Director Chad Bevers, the group toured our facility. To complete the experience, they stayed and volunteered. It was MFB’s distribution week, so there was plenty to do. The team helped load the carts and vehicles of our agencies.

For Dietz, it was important his team see what he had already seen at MFB. “I’m pleased to have the ISU leadership team volunteering with our community partners,” he said.

The team was favorable about the visit. They were impressed with the number of volunteers and how that support allows MFB to operate with a small staff. Other ways university staff and students could be involved were discussed.

Midwest Food Bank appreciates the opportunity to share our mission with the leadership of ISU. We hope our time together will strengthen the bond we already have with ISU – students and administration alike.
