Jan Young has been hired as the Executive Director of the New England Division. Jan was previously employed as VP of Engineering for a growing software development company.
As a Central Illinois native, she had a basic familiarity with MFB. She learned a tremendous amount about food insecurity in the fall of 2020 as the volunteer project manager for the New England division feasibility study. Her heart for the work grew, and she is grateful to focus her time and talents in launching and operating the New England division in the service of others.
“I wanted to work somewhere where I could make a difference in people’s lives, and this organization aligns with my values.” says Jan. “I’m delighted to be on board!”
“Jan brings a wealth of knowledge, skills, and creativity to the position,” says Heather Summers, MFB New England board member. “She has instilled a momentum focused on shaping the New England division.”
Jan lives with her two college-age sons in Tolland, CT. She enjoys hiking, paddle boarding, and other outdoor activities, soaking in the beauty of God’s creation, a good book by a crackling fire, and participating in church fellowship opportunities.
