Once again KAPU/ Midwestfoodbank together with Spreadtruth were involved in food distribution and evangelism in makuyu at Kivingoni village.
Makuyu is located on the South Eastern side of Kenya and the area has missed rains for the last four rainy season’s.
Tuesday 3rd of September 2019 brought hope to an estimated figure of 2000 families. We arrived at Kivingoni at 12:30pm and we found a crowd that was waiting for us as early as 7:00Am.
The food distribution and evangelism was conducted at First Baptist Church Kivingoni House Of Worship where Ken Lanyo of Spreadtruth preached and Four men (elderly gave there lives to Christ)
I was able to address the locals on the nutrional value of Tendermercies and how to cook.
Spreadtruth Founder Jerry Mccorkle and his wife Genie Mccorkle talked to the locals, and food distribution began.
We had targeted to give 30 pack’s of Tendermercies per family which we did for sometime until we realised that people were increasing, we reduced to 20 packs and they kept on increasing, we went down to 15 packs, then to 10 packs and finally to 5 Packs.
The load we had was 10tonnes and we had estimated to about 800 families but it went beyond that.
Pictures of all that took place are attached and we gave hope to the families.
The old man on a picture attached was greatfull and for him is like he had seen God coming down.
