With gratitude, we welcome Sam Thompson as the new Executive Director of our Texas division, effective September 1. Sam brings more than 30 years of nonprofit leadership experience, primarily through his service with the Boy Scouts of America. He is known as a connector, a relationship builder, and a leader who keeps mission at the center while cultivating a culture of dignity and service. His leadership will build on the already strong foundation of the Texas division, strengthening operations while expanding relationships with donors, volunteers, and community partners.

Beyond his professional calling, Sam is a family man who treasures his wife, Debi, and their son, Nicolas. Married for 28 years, Sam and Debi make their home in the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex. Debi serves as a social worker specializing in adoptions, and Nicolas, a graduate of Texas A&M, is beginning his career in the aerospace and defense industry.
As a family, the Thompsons value faith, service, and making a difference in the lives of others. Their commitment mirrors the mission we live out daily in our ministry of feeding and serving neighbors.
“I am excited to join the team at MFB and be part of the incredible work being done to fight hunger and offer hope in our community and throughout the world,” Sam shares. “I look forward to rolling up my sleeves and working alongside all of you to make an even greater impact.”
Join us in welcoming Sam Thompson and strengthening the mission in Texas. Together, we can serve more families in need and expand the fellowship of volunteers and donors.
