MFB distribution volunteers have fun, build family

Midwest Food Bank volunteers are known for their ability to work hard and have fun. That combination happens for a week each month when food is distributed to Midwest Food Bank’s nonprofit partners. It is especially helpful if volunteers can commit to one or more days regularly for food distribution. Our current volunteers are ready to help train and welcome “newbies.”

Here’s what to expect if you become a distribution volunteer:
• Volunteers will lift throughout the day, so it’s a workout, too!
• Distribution happens during the day, on weekdays.
• It’s a great opportunity for high school and college students to get volunteer hours.
• Distribution volunteers make it happen by joyfully serving our food partners.

“All our daily efforts at MFB boil down to our food distribution days. It’s what we prepare for the rest of the month,” says Tara Ingram, Executive Director of MFB Normal. “Our distribution volunteers become family. They often build relationships as they serve together.”

Please consider joining our family of distribution volunteers. We promise you will work hard and have fun. Call Donna, our Volunteer Coordinator, at 309-663-5350, or click here to get started.
