If you’ve traveled the world, speak multiple languages, and participated in the Junior Olympics, what is left for you to do? Why, volunteer at MFB Texas, that’s what.
Tonja Amos began volunteering at MFB Texas in November 2021 on a pallet building team. She now helps lead and coordinate those teams. She’s happy to be able to volunteer more now that she’s retired and has more time to serve. Tonja has a passion for being part of a bigger purpose. She volunteers in the warehouse with system and inventory needs, and assists in a bookkeeping role, too.
“Tonja has high energy and a passion for doing things well,” says David Emerson, Executive Director of MFB Texas. “We’re blessed to have her volunteering here.
Tonja has exciting life experiences. She loves to travel and has been to every continent and 66 countries. Her favorite vacation spot? Rome, Italy. She speaks multiple languages, including Mandarin, German, Spanish, and Portuguese. Tonja went to the Junior Olympics eight times and still holds records for sprints in her home state of Oklahoma. She was the first in her family to graduate from college.
