From May 26 to September 19, 2025, Midwest Food Bank Arizona is collecting bottled water to respond to increased needs during Arizona’s extreme heat season.
In 2024, Maricopa County experienced 113 straight days above 100°F. People experiencing homelessness and older adults were especially affected. Even indoors, 88% of heat-related deaths had air conditioning present, but 70% of those units weren’t working.
“Extreme heat is a silent threat—especially for the unsheltered and vulnerable. Water becomes lifesaving,” says Merilee Baptiste, Executive Director of Midwest Food Bank Arizona. “We’re asking the community to donate cases or give financially.”
How You Can Help
- Donate bottled water (16.9 oz cases preferred)
- Make a financial donation: Your funds support water and emergency aid
- Host a water drive with your workplace, church, or group
Drop-off location:
725 E. Baseline Rd. Gilbert, AZ
Monday–Friday, 9 AM–4 PM
Water is needed not just for individuals on the street, but also at heat relief centers and for disaster response, such as during wildfires. Each bottle you donate can provide relief—and potentially save a life.
