Midwest Food Bank hires a new IT Director

Midwest Food Bank is pleased to announce the hire of Nate Westerfield as our new IT Director. He began at MFB on September 7 and will work part-time through October. Beginning November 1, he will transition to full-time and be located in Morton, IL division.

Nate brings more than 20 years of IT experience to MFB. Most recently, Nate has served as the Creative Arts Director for Great Oaks Church, leading all IT initiatives in addition to leading a team of volunteers for the church’s worship and digital media. Nate is looking forward to joining the MFB family.

“Nate is aligned with the MFB mission and brings experience with a breadth of technologies,” says Eric Hodel, COO/CFO of Midwest Food Bank. “We’re thankful for his heart to serve.”

Nate’s key project will be leading a team to select an Inventory Management System. Nate will partner with Lisa Martin to transition her IT Director responsibilities throughout the remainder of 2021. Lisa will continue in her role as the MFB Morton Executive Director. Lisa will also provide leadership for the Tender Mercies growth strategy, transitioning Morton to be the MFB headquarters for Disaster Relief.

“I’m excited to serve with such an incredible, welcoming team of Jesus-loving people,” says Nate. “I’m looking forward to finding digital tools and resources to aid in helping alleviate hunger and malnutrition.”

Nate lives in Washington, IL, and is married to Kalee. They have three boys, Parker (14), Camden (12), and Hudson (6). Nate loves to serve in his local church, spend time with his family, coach baseball, and watch his boys play sports.

Please join us in welcoming Nate to the Midwest Food Bank team.
