The 6th Annual Miles for Midwest 5K brought together an incredible community of runners, walkers, volunteers, and sponsors in support of Midwest Food Bank Georgia’s mission to alleviate food insecurity.
This year’s event reached a record 479 registrations, with participants showing up in a big way to support the Race to End Hunger. Whether crossing the finish line first or completing a personal goal of running or walking a first 5K, every participant played a role in making a meaningful impact.
Midwest Food Bank Georgia is especially grateful for the event sponsors who helped make the day possible, including top sponsors Chick-fil-A, Cooper Lighting, and QTS.
Together, supporters helped raise nearly $30,000 toward hunger relief efforts. Because Midwest Food Bank can turn every $1 into $35 worth of food, those funds will help provide more than $1 million worth of quality food to nonprofit partner agencies serving communities across Georgia at no cost to them.
The event served as another reminder of what can happen when a community comes together around a shared mission.
Thank you to everyone who ran, walked, volunteered, sponsored, and supported this year’s event. Mark your calendars now for the 7th Annual Miles for Midwest 5K on Saturday, May 8, 2027.
