New bookkeeper at MFB Georgia

Today I would like to introduce you to Gloria Ciecka, the GA bookkeeper. I had the privilege of being picked up by Gloria at the airport in Atlanta. She welcomed me with a sign with my name on it as she waited for me to arrive at the gate. I always wanted to meet someone at the airport that was holding a name sign for me! ? That is a forever memory I will have of Gloria. I hope you enjoy getting to know her as you read through the questions below. Gloria, thank you for all you are doing for Midwest Food Bank. You are a wonderful part of our team. Thank you!

  1. What motivates you to be a part of the Midwest Food Bank team? The people. Both the core volunteers who make me smile as well as the agency reps who are sharing the valleys and the mountain tops they are experiencing as they see God’s Hands at work in the communities they are serving.
  2. How long have you served at Midwest Food Bank? I started volunteering about 4.5 years ago. I have been a part-time employee since end of January 2018, I think.
  3. What is something most people don’t know about you? I used to do Dalmatian rescue.
  4. What would you like to ask David Keiser? What verse(s) does he rest in most often when faced with challenges?
  5. What are your hobbies and interests? I love to read, watch movies (I sometimes do movie reviews) and play games.
  6. What is your best vacation? Best vacation was in 2016. The family went to the U.K. touring many WWI and WWII museums, attended Tank Fest (yes it’s a real thing with tanks from around the world) and then my son and I then went on, without hubby, to tour Poland for two weeks.
  7. What is one thing on your bucket list? To go to Ireland and see where Quiet Man was filmed.
  8. If you had to eat one meal for the rest of your life what would it be? If calories didn’t count…pierogi
  9. What are your top 3 life highlights. Accepting salvation, time with my husband and seeing my son come back to God
  10. What is your greatest fear or phobia? Spiders.
  11. Where is your hometown? Or how many places have you lived? I live in Fayetteville, GA but was born in Oklahoma, raised in Southern California, college in Oklahoma, moved back to California then New Jersey, Virginia, NJ again and now GA.
