For families living with disabilities in rural Kenya, accessing nutritious food is often a daily challenge. Many are unable to travel to food distribution sites because of limited mobility or difficult terrain.
Through its partnership with Vote for Jesus Is the Answer Ministries, Midwest Food Bank East Africa helps deliver food directly to these families, ensuring they receive consistent nutritional support and compassionate care.
Led by Dr. Mary Kahama, the ministry serves families throughout Murang’a County by bringing food to their homes and building lasting relationships with those they serve.
One family’s story highlights the impact of this partnership. Several years ago, the ministry met a child suffering from severe malnutrition and rickets who was unable to walk. Through consistent nutrition provided over time, the child’s health steadily improved. Today, the child is walking, offering encouragement to the family and everyone involved in the ministry.
While every family’s journey is unique, stories like this demonstrate how reliable nutrition and dedicated community partnerships can make a meaningful difference.
