We appreciate the many truck drivers that make their way through our facility. Whether they are volunteer drivers or professionals bringing in a donated load, we want them to know they are valued.
In February, Midwest Food Bank Arizona debuted its drivers lounge. What was an unused office space with a beautiful shower (installed by the previous owner) is now an oasis for those that move our food. The lounge features a comfortable seating area, music, movies, snacks and a big, clean shower with towels and toiletries. There is even an elliptical machine for drivers tired of sitting, but to smart to walk in the Arizona heat.
While our drivers are relaxing, we can quickly unload their trucks, complete the paperwork, sweep and blow their cargo space clean. They are then able to go on their way refreshed.
