Week after week, her quiet service helped food reach families in need, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, faith, and care that continues in the community.
The Midwest Food Bank Peoria community is remembering Gloria Ranney, a long-time partner, volunteer, and faithful servant who cared deeply for others.
Gloria, alongside her husband Greg, led the partnership with Grace United Methodist Church. Through this work, they helped provide food pantry support and snack packs to families across the Peoria area. She was 71.
Gloria’s work was consistent and dependable. She helped ensure food moved from Midwest Food Bank to local families week after week. She supported volunteers and helped coordinate distribution. She made sure the pantry remained a place people could rely on. She gave her time freely and never looked for recognition. Those who knew her describe a woman who was wise, generous, and full of energy. Her smile and can-do attitude made a lasting impression on everyone she met.
Gloria’s life reflected her faith in simple and clear ways. “Only Jesus” was not just something she believed. It was seen in how she served, how she treated others, and how she showed up with kindness and care. Her work through Grace United Methodist Church strengthened a partnership that continues to serve families today.
Gloria will be deeply missed.
Her life was marked by compassion, generosity, and a willingness to serve others without hesitation. There is gratitude for the time shared with her and hope in the promise of Heaven for her and those she loved. Her legacy continues in the lives she touched and the work she helped carry forward.
