We are deeply saddened to share the news of Lori Steidinger’s passing. Lori and Ryan Steidinger have been integral to Midwest Food Bank Florida since their move to Punta Gorda in 2021 (previous profile here). Their dedication and hard work have significantly impacted our operations and community.
In 2023, Lori and Ryan received our highest volunteer honor, the “Above and Beyond” award. Their work together in the warehouse set a high standard for others, exemplifying the true meaning of teamwork and commitment. Seeing them side by side, it was clear they were the gold standard of marriage.
Lori and Ryan created a beautiful and blessed life together. Their mission was to raise their children and grandchildren to love the Lord. Lori was passionate about traveling and experiencing as much of God’s creation as possible. Her greatest joys were holding her husband’s hand and watching her grandchildren play. Above all, Lori loved the Lord our God with all her heart.
Tanya Phillips, our Programs Manager, reflects on Lori’s contributions: “Lori’s meticulous work in managing accounts payable ensured our financial operations ran smoothly and maintained our financial integrity. Her legacy is a testament to her dedication and passion.”
Lori’s passing leaves a void in our community. However, her spirit and legacy will continue to inspire us. Lori is now free and dancing with her Father on Streets of Gold. Her legacy of love, faith, and service will always be remembered and cherished by everyone at Midwest Food Bank.
In honor of Lori, we invite you to join our mission. Your support makes a difference, whether through volunteering or donations. Get started here.
