Snowbird season

How do Arizonians know that winter has come? First, the nation’s interest in our ability to fry an egg on the sidewalk severely diminishes. And second, our winter residents from the Midwest complete their migration to the Grand Canyon State.

When our Midwesterners return to the Southwest we all get excited. During the winter months we add a couple of dozen faithful volunteers to our ranks. They fill so many vital roles: packing food, driving trucks, running the warehouse, and doing an incredible number of facility repairs and improvements.

In Arizona we are always happy about our mild winters, but we are also happy for the cold winters that bring our snow birds back!
