Teamwork abounds at MFB Morton, IL

“Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.” – Helen Keller

One of Midwest Food Bank’s Values is “Executing through Teamwork.” MFB works as a team across all of our locations and within each division. We place a high priority on collaboration, many people working together to achieve a common goal.

Here at MFB Morton, we get to observe and experience the beauty of teamwork every day. People from sports teams to work teams to families to social groups and clubs come together to join in the fight against food insecurity.

These groups experience the benefits of building trust, strengthening relationships, sharing knowledge and skills, and accomplishing much more. The favorite part of many volunteer groups is when we announce what was accomplished and how many lives were impacted.

“Volunteer teams are critical to the mission of Midwest Food Bank,” says Lisa Martin, Executive Director of MFB Morton, IL. “Along with the work they accomplish, it’s a blessing to see people enjoying the fun of teamwork.”

Komatsu is an example of a company that promotes teamwork through volunteerism. Colleagues and their families volunteer once a month at MFB Morton. “It is strengthening for our team, and we appreciate the MFB mission,” says Dianna from Komatsu.

A group from the Metamora High School Girls Basketball team volunteered together on a day off of school. A healthy blend of teamwork and competition resulted in 12,740 bags of raisin bran packaged.
