Tirrim School in Marsabit County expressed gratitude for the Tender Mercies and Unimix food provided for its school feeding program. That support brings steady nourishment to one of the driest and poorest regions of Northern Kenya. Families here face both physical hardship and spiritual strain, and the nomadic rhythm of life often makes consistent learning difficult. Still, Tirrim Trust continues to serve with compassion, guiding students in knowledge and faith.
Together with the Council of Governors, led by CEO Mary Mwiti, the Ol Teyani Secondary School board members, and Midwest Food Bank East Africa, leaders recently visited Food for Education’s eco-friendly kitchens in Giga, Juja, and Ruiru. These sites prepare up to 100,000 meals each day, using energy-saving designs that honor both creation and community needs.
The visit sparked practical ideas for Ol Teyani Secondary School, including plans for a sustainable kitchen and a stronger feeding program. These efforts are centered on mercy, dignity, and the simple truth that no student should learn while hungry. Through shared service, Tender Mercies, and Unimix, students receive the strength they need for their studies, and schools gain the stability required to nurture truth, growth, and grace across Marsabit and beyond.
