Thanks for Disaster Relief

Two category 4 hurricanes hitting the United States within two weeks created an opportunity for Midwest Food Bank to share God’s love. Our partnership with The Salvation Army allows us to offer help early and often.

Loads of family food boxes, hygiene kits and cleaning supplies were sent to victims of both Harvey (Texas) and Irma (Florida). In all 46 loads of disaster relief were sent from Midwest Food Bank. Combined with four loads sent in the spring to other disaster sites, 50 loads were sent in 2017.

A number of recipients sent Thank You notes to us. We share excerpts from those notes with you, our volunteers and donors. None of this would have been possible without your generosity. Our prayer is for people see the hands of Jesus helping them.

“Thank you for blessing my family with food. We lost everything in the hurricane and have been stressing about what we are going to do. This has helped us stress a little less. From my family to y’all, we say thank you so, so, so much!”

“Words cannot express how thankful we are for your gift of love and support.”

“The box was a great help and blessing to many people.”

“With gratitude beyond words to MFB! To God be the glory!”
