On January 10, 2026, students participating in a DECA competition demonstrated creativity, confidence, and professionalism through hands on marketing and communication challenges.
The event featured two competitive scenarios that required students to analyze an event prompt, prepare within ten minutes, and deliver a professional presentation. These fast paced challenges highlighted essential skills such as critical thinking, problem solving, communication, creativity, and innovation.
Across both competitions, students showed strong abilities in branding and positioning products and services. They identified opportunities within social media and digital marketing spaces, developed creative promotional ideas, wrote engaging content, and communicated core values with clarity.
In addition to supporting the competition, Midwest Food Bank provided food and beverage donations for the event. Remaining items were shared with Greenwood High School’s Friday Food Program, extending the impact beyond the day’s activities.
Events like this reinforce the importance of engaging young voices and creative minds. Students and young professionals with interests in marketing, social media, photography, videography, and event promotion are encouraged to get involved and support future fundraisers and community events.
