This summer, Midwest Food Bank Texas was blessed to welcome members of the Young Men’s Service League (YMSL) Kell-Tex Chapter through a special Summer Service Program.
With our warehouse open each weekday, mothers and sons had the opportunity to serve side by side, transforming their summer break into a season of compassion, generosity, and purpose.
The Young Men’s Service League is a national organization dedicated to fostering leadership, character, and a lifelong commitment to serving others by providing meaningful volunteer opportunities for mothers and their teenage sons. Their mission to strengthen families through service aligns beautifully with the mission of Midwest Food Bank – to share the love of Christ by alleviating hunger and malnutrition and providing disaster relief.
Throughout the summer, YMSL volunteers sorted, packed, and prepared food and essential products that will be distributed through our network of partner agencies across Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana. Every box packed and every pallet prepared represents hope for families facing food insecurity.
Watching mothers and sons serve together is a powerful reminder that a heart for serving others is one of life’s greatest gifts. These shared experiences not only bless our ministry but also help cultivate the next generation of compassionate leaders who understand the joy of giving back to their communities.
