Hunger Relief

Every Meal Makes a Difference

Every day, Midwest Food Bank works to fight hunger across the nation, providing food and resources to thousands of families through our network of nonprofit partners. Through our daily operations, weekly food distributions, and monthly large-scale programs, we support agencies that serve children, seniors, and families facing food insecurity.

How Hunger Relief Works

Our process is simple and efficient, helping more people every day.

1

Food is donated and rescued

We receive food from generous partners, growers, and the community.

2

Food is inventoried and organized

Our team and volunteers sort, check, and organize food at our facilities.

3

Food is shared locally

A network of 2400 nonprofits (kitchens, shelters, and pantries) help us share food, free of charge, with communities near and far.

Hope Packs

Hunger doesn’t stop when school is out.

Many children lose access to meals over the weekend. Hope Packs are filled with easy-to-open, nutritious food that helps students return to class ready to learn. Midwest Food Bank works with schools and nonprofits to make sure children facing food insecurity have weekend meals they can count on.
