Hunger Awareness Month

Faithfully Feeding our Communities

September 2026

Hunger exists in every community, often in ways many people don’t see.

During Hunger Awareness Month, Midwest Food Bank is helping bring those realities into view while showing how communities can respond together.

We partner with thousands of nonprofit organizations, including food pantries, shelters, churches, schools, and community organizations to provide food and essential resources at no cost. By rescuing food, engaging volunteers, and equipping our partners, we help them serve more people while using their resources where they’re needed most.

Every day, food moves from Midwest Food Bank warehouses into local communities through trusted nonprofit partners who are already serving families. This collaborative approach allows food assistance to reach neighbors efficiently, while strengthening the organizations working on the front lines of hunger relief.
