Experience and faith make Corey Barrette an excellent fit for Midwest Food Bank New England. He joined the staff in February as the Volunteer and Community Relations Manager.

Corey started his career in higher education at a small college in the Chicago suburbs. He then moved into an event supervisor role for Feed My Starving Children, an international hunger relief organization.
"After ten years in Illinois with a then-growing family, I felt called to relocate back to New England," says Corey. "I accepted a role with Samaritan's Purse as a regional manager for volunteer leadership development with Operation Christmas Child."

He stayed in that role for a little more than five years. It required significant travel, and Corey felt the need to be home more with his family. He and his wife, Casey, have three children, ages 10, 6, and 3. They live in a quiet corner of Northeast Connecticut and enjoy hiking and camping in New Hampshire, traveling to watch their son play soccer, and being active at their local church.
"MFB's mission to alleviate food insecurity and show the love of Christ has attracted incredible staff and volunteers to this place," says Corey. "I am deeply grateful for the chance to work alongside dedicated, generous people."
