Midwest Food Bank Florida began hosting mobile food pantries in Lehigh Acres and Immokalee in June. Volunteers Al Chilsom and Deb Dahlke, part of the Servants of Christ Outreach, conduct the pantries. They schedule the pantries and staff them with volunteers.

MFB sends a truck laden with food to the mobile pantry location. As a refrigerated truck, it is perfect for the meat, produce, bread and snacks distributed at the location.

The first mobile pantry was June 6 at the Lehigh Acres Church of the Nazarene. Over 800 people (over 200 families), including children, adults and seniors, were served. The next was held on June 20 at the House of Prayer in Imokalee. This time, over 1,300 people were given food. In addition, the pastor was left with 180 snack bags to be used in the church's outreach ministry.

Midwest Food Bank Florida plan to continue to operate the mobile pantries twice a month. We are passionate about bring help to those in need in Jesus' name.
