Two loading docks and an additional 8,000 sq. ft. were added to Midwest Food Bank Georgia's 34,000 sq. ft. distribution center. With the work completed, we held a ribbon cutting ceremony for their expansion on Friday, March 31, at 8:30 am. Over 100 people attended the event, including Peachtree City Mayor, Vanessa Fleisch, Fayetteville Mayor, Ed Johnson, and Chamber of Commerce President and CEO, Carlotta Ungaro. That evening, a dinner was held, celebrating Faith, Family and Feeding the Hungry.

South-Tree Enterprises, Inc. was our General Contractor, they did a great job. Throughout the entire process from design and throughout construction, they had our best interest at heart.

Midwest Food Bank Georgia currently provides food for 292 non-profit organizations from 44 counties in 4 states. The expansion will allow MFB to begin serving some of the 48 agencies on the waiting list for services. Food given away from this facility in 2016 totaled more than $12 million.

"Our goal when we broke ground was to continue to be debt-free, but we didn't quite make it," says Will Garner, Executive Director. "I know the remaining funding will come; God is faithful and so is this community. I'm used to saying, 'Look what God has done,' but it should be, 'Look what God is doing.'"

Below are some photos of the event. A video of the ribbon cutting is here, and a clip from the dinner is here.
