Midwest Food Bank held it's first "Sharing the Blessings Breakfast" on Wednesday, January 31. It was an opportunity for the non-profit agencies we serve to get to know each other, fellowship and encourage one another.

85 guests enjoyed a breakfast of eggs, fruit, muffins, coffee and juice, while visiting. The Town of Gilbert presented information on emergency assistance for low income residents.

"People wo are on the front lines serving those in need do not often get the oportunity to meet others doing like work," says Lauren Leverette, Executive Director of MFB Arizona. "This is a chance for them to learn, develop and grow within their organization and personally."

Several agencies were recognized by Midwest Food Bank for their exceptional work. Among them were: The Bridge, Maricopa Food Pantry, Native Health, Nana Ministries, The Olive Press, Resurrection Street Ministries, and St. Vincent De Paul St. Mary's Chandler. These agencies have Helped in many ways, including sending daily volunteers to help with distribution and transporting product.

Attendees were given gift bags and t-shirts. Many guests were excited to attend and asked when the next event will be.

"Midwest Food Bank is thankful to be a part of the amazing things that will result from bringing these people together," says Leverette.
