Midwest Food Bank values your participation and support and is committed to protecting your privacy. Midwest Food Bank is further committed to providing a safe environment for anyone who visits, volunteers, or makes a donation.
Midwest Food Bank maintains strict donor information privacy policies. We take great care to ensure that unauthorized persons do not compromise your information.
Midwest Food Bank does not trade, share, or sell your personal information to any organization or individual, nor send donor mailings on behalf of other organizations. We will not divulge personal information to any other organization or individual other than that necessary to transact, fulfill and or account for donations that you have authorized.
Midwest Food Bank does not share your information with telemarketing centers. We do not use telephone marketing to solicit funds. Midwest Food Bank will only use your phone number if we need to verify information or to thank you for your contribution, ask for your opinion, request your assistance, or invite you to a special event.
WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?
When you make a donation, volunteer, or schedule a food donation, Midwest Food Bank may ask you for your name, address, email address, telephone number, fax number, as well as other relevant information (e.g., hours available to volunteer).
HOW DO WE USE YOUR INFORMATION?
Midwest Food Bank uses non-identifying basic information (aggregate data), on occasion, to share with sponsors, partners, other third-party vendors, or for internal marketing purposes to encourage fundraising.
Midwest Food Bank uses personally identifiable information you provide about yourself: a) to respond to your questions or comments about Midwest Food Bank services; b) to fulfill requests to volunteer or conduct a food drive; c) to process your donation, verify your credit card and send you a tax-deductible receipt; d) confirm a donation; e) to thank you; f) to send you additional information about Midwest Food Bank programs, services, and needs that we believe will interest you; g) to protect against a threat of safety or destruction of property; and h) to protect against legal liability.
Midwest Food Bank may disclose to third parties aggregate statistics (e.g., total number of donors, total amount of donations for specific periods, average gift size, and total number of volunteers for specific projects or events). These statistics will not include any personally identifying information.
Midwest Food Bank will not use personal information in any way other than described in this policy. Midwest Food Bank requires employees, agents, and contractors who have access to personal information to protect information consistent with this privacy policy.
OPT OUT

SECURE ENVIRONMENT
Midwest Food Bank's transaction handling policies allow you to make safe donations, whether in person, by phone, by mail, or online. Cash, check, or credit card transactions are handled so as to ensure complete donor information confidentiality. Handling policies are only completed by Midwest Food Bank staff (paid and volunteer) who need access to personal identifiable information to perform a specific job are granted access to that information. Third parties handle Midwest Food Bank's online credit card verification process. These organizations require your name, address, credit card number, and expiration date to process your transaction. Their state-of-the-art firewalls and encryption technology offer the highest level of security to ensure the confidentiality of your transaction. Midwest Food Bank and our third party vendors will not use your information for any purpose outside of these necessary processes. Online forms are encrypted by secure socket layer (SSL) technology. Midwest Food Bank does not use cookies on its website.
NO LIABILITY
The security measures we take may not prevent all loss, misuse or alteration of information. Midwest Food Bank is not responsible for any damages or liabilities relating to such security failures. Unauthorized third parties may access data and communications, including email, when communicated via the Internet. The Midwest Food Bank website includes links to other websites. Midwest Food Bank cannot ensure the privacy practices of other such sites.
