Harvest of Blessings dinner a success
If seeing is believing, then hearing can translate into understanding. That's what happened this fall when Midwest Food Bank Georgia hosted its Harvest of Blessings fundraising dinner at the MFB warehouse in Peachtree City.
Guests entered through the warehouse and could see the work of MFB and how their support helps those in need. Then, guest speaker and community leader, Brandon Sherman, shared his experience with poverty as a child.
"His story of success through challenging times and the help received along the way was truly inspirational," says Pat Burke, MFB Georgia Executive Director.
The evening included dinner donated by local family restaurants, live music, an online and live auction, and stories from nonprofit partner agencies that receive food from MFB. In total, $50,000 was raised to help food-insecure individuals and families in Georgia.
"The evening provided nearly 200 people an opportunity to see Midwest Food Bank up close," says Pat. We hope they gained a better understanding of the impact we have within the communities we serve."
