MFB Morton rejoiced to see Bradley University students spending time helping others on Friday, April 20. Instead of using that afternoon for downtime, about 100 students hand packed the Midwest Food Bank Tender Mercies meal packets in the student center ballroom. It was a different kind of college party - the music, energy
This was the first time Midwest Food Bank has partnered with Bradley University with a meal packing event on campus. A student organization sponsored the cost of the meal packets and has directed these meals to Peoria Public Schools to be given to students and families. While this was the first event on campus, it probably won't be the last. Students and faculty are looking for additional dates to organize future events. High learning and a higher calling - happening at Bradley University.
Midwest Food Bank thrives on the work of a huge army of volunteers. in 2017, over 23,000 people gave enough hours of service to be the equivalent of more than 100 full-time employees! It is wonderful to know, according to Jesus' words, they are receiving blessings.
