Huge volunteer group spreads hope
At Midwest Food Bank Arizona, we are grateful for our ongoing partnership with Sun Valley Community Church members. In February, two campuses of SVCC each brought 100 volunteers to work at MFB. When combined with our 50 regular volunteers, 250 people worked together for two hours, repackaging cereal and assembling snack packs for Hope Fest.
Hope Fest Phoenix is a one-day event for the working poor in our community. The goal is to meet their needs by connecting them to long-term resources. The 2019 event served over 10,000 families.
Thanks to our regular volunteers and the extra help provided by the SVCC, MFB Arizona was able to support this worthy event. Thousands of servings of food were distributed.
