MFB Bloomington-Normal welcomes Volunteer Coordinator
Midwest Food Bank Bloomington-Normal extends a warm welcome to our new Volunteer Coordinator, Davis Dossett. His duties will include scheduling and training volunteers, and scheduling Community Center spaces, in addition to office work. Davis will be working weekdays from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. to assist with evening volunteer and Community Center activities.
Davis grew up in Vienna, Austria, in a missionary family. His parents worked with refugees from the Middle East. He graduated from Greenville University in 2014 with a degree in Criminal Justice. He will complete his Master's degree in August. Davis previously worked at Greenville University as an assistant soccer coach and recruiting coordinator. Prior to that he worked as a mentor and leader for at-risk youth at Salem4Youth in Flanagan, IL.
"I'm excited to support the Midwest Food Bank mission and helping those in need," says Davis. "It's exciting to see how God works in the lives of those being served and serving."
In his spare time, Davis enjoys playing soccer, basketball, baseball, chess, and playing with his golden retriever, Rex. He plans to run a half marathon in September. Davis' finacée, Holly, is a third grade teacher. They plan to marry in Jamaica on July 3.
"Davis' background in coaching, mentoring, and planning logistics for the college soccer team lend beautifully to his role at Midwest Food Bank," says Tara Ingham, Executive Director at MFB Bloomington-Normal. "His heart to serve others is inspiring."
Stop at MFB and meet Davis, and join us in welcoming him to the team.
