Midwest Food Bank rated best food bank in US for financial accountability

GLEN ROCK, N.J. - Bloomington has one of the most financially accountable charities in the country.
The New York-based non-profit Charity Navigator which ranks over 6,000 charities for financial accountability and transparancy pegs Midwest Food Bank as the top charity in Illinois and the best food bank in the U.S. It ranked as the fifth-most accountable charity of any kind in the country.
Charity Navigator bases its findings on publicly available tax returns that are filed with the Internal Revenue Service. Its report shows Midwest Food Bank spends 98.5 cents of every dollar donated on feeding families and the rest on administrative costs.
