Ready to Serve: Welcoming New Staff to Midwest Food Bank

GEORGIA

A Familiar Face Takes on a New Mission at MFB Georgia

Sarah officially steps into her new role on February 10, 2025, bringing a wealth of experience from both the nonprofit and corporate worlds. Her passion for community service and solid background in business and leadership make her an excellent addition to our team.

Sarah's professional journey is both impressive and rooted in care for others. She began her career in the corporate sector as a Marketing Coordinator and Business Development Specialist at John Hancock. From there, she transitioned into the nonprofit space, becoming Executive Director for the Washington County Chamber of Commerce in North Carolina.

Her dedication to supporting people continued with nearly five years in senior living and memory care communities—Province Place of DePaul in Norfolk and The Memory Center in Virginia Beach. Most recently, Sarah worked with the WinShape Foundation, a charitable endeavor of Chick-fil-A that emphasizes faith and family.

Sarah holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in International Business with a concentration in Finance from James Madison University and a minor in French. But beyond her impressive résumé, it's her long-standing connection to Midwest Food Bank that truly stands out.

"Whether through a neighborhood small group, a Mom's group, or church group, we have volunteered many times, and the mission has always touched my heart," says Sarah. "I'm really looking forward to contributing in an even more meaningful way!"

Sarah and her family moved to Peachtree City more than eleven years ago and quickly knew it was home. From early on, Midwest Food Bank was a place where they connected with others and gave back.

Sarah enjoys being active with her family when she's not serving the community. She and her husband, Mike, have been married for nearly 20 years and are proud parents to Jack (14) and Alexa (11). Most weekends, you'll find them cheering on the sidelines of a soccer field or basketball court.

As Agency Coordinator, Sarah will work closely with our partner agencies, helping build relationships and ensure food distribution remains smooth, responsive, and impactful. Her leadership and enthusiasm are already making a mark, and we're thrilled to have her on board. Please join us in giving Sarah a warm Midwest Food Bank welcome!
