Tender Mercies amplifies monetary donations
Do you know a nutritious, hot meal that costs 20 cents?
At Midwest Food Bank we strive to provide the best possible meal choices for people in need. One of the ways we do that is through our Tender Mercies meal packets - rice, pre-cooked pinto beans, soy protein and fortified chicken flavored seasoning. Coordinated at MFB Morton, Tender Mercies has been integral to our response to COVID 19.

Through word of mouth and increased need, MFB has been providing Tender Mercies to many areas of the United States that haven't received it before. As individuals, organizations, churches and families look for ways to help others, Tender Mercies has been a way for them to do that through a donation to MFB.
"Financially, that's the best thing you can do," says Gail. "For less than a quarter you can feed somebody."
Tender Mercies is one of the items included in the family food boxes that are now being created and distributed to people in need. In response to the pandemic, nearly 360,000 meals of Tender Mercies have been distributed in Illinois, Georgia, Florida, South Dakota, Tennessee.
