New Volunteer Manager at Peoria MFB
When it comes to conversation, Dominica Rogers can span topics from geological forces to counted cross-stitch.
That gift makes her a perfect fit for her Community Relations and Volunteer Manager position at Midwest Food Bank Peoria. She joined the staff in August.
"Dominica brings much community and volunteer relations experience, and she is looking forward to helping people find purpose and impact from volunteering," says Monica Scheuer, Executive Director of MFB Peoria.
Before coming to MFB, Dominica worked as the volunteer coordinator for Luthy Botanical Garden. She also has experience with the Girl Scouts, Illinois Central College, and at a park district.
"My previous jobs are varied, but all the experiences have led me to the job at Midwest Food Bank," says Dominica.
Her ability to connect with people across various topics will help MFB continue developing a volunteer pool.
"Dominica's experience and love for people perfectly fit our team and MFB's mission. She is eager to get to know volunteers and get out into the community and talk about MFB," says Monica.
Dominica likes to spend time with her siblings, nephews, niece, and her dog Rocko and cat Six in her free time. She already enjoys interacting with volunteers.
"I love seeing the volunteers come and have fun while packaging food. It doesn't matter if they are new or returning; everyone seems to have a great time," says Dominica.
